Free laptop scheme for UK


Free laptop scheme has been rolled out for poor pupils. The estimated budget for this project is £300m. It will cover 270,000 families in England. This project was started in 2008 by Prime Minister Gordon Brown and it has covered two local areas in England.
The pupil having poor background can avail this facility of laptops to continue their studies. Also a free broadband connection will be provided to needed pupils. A conducted research has shown that performance progress.
Pupils who have laptop at their homes are 2 grades ahead in subjects from their fellows.
This scheme has started to cover the gap between rich and poor communities. Children from the age of 7 to 14 are illegible for applying in this scheme. Special children from care counseling will be prioritize in applications.
